China holds online epidemic prevention and control conference with Mongolia

BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- An online communication and exchange conference on the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control between China and Mongolia was held on Tuesday.

The online conference, initiated by the Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network and co-hosted by Mongolian Democratic Socialist Youth Union, was the ninth online international exchange conference organized by the Network, inviting representatives from the Mongolian Democratic Socialist Women's Association, National Public Health Center of Mongolia, hospitals, as well as overseas Chinese, Chinese enterprises and volunteers in Mongolia.

During the conference, Zhou Jian, a member of the first batch of medical teams supporting central China's Hubei Province and a doctor with the Second People's Hospital of Lanzhou City, and Buren Batu, vice president of Inner Mongolia Association of Mongolian Medicine carried out online exchanges on topics such as local transmission of imported cases and the role of Mongolian medicine in fighting against the epidemic.

Besides, the Chinese experts also responded to the concerns of the attendees.

Sanaa, vice chairperson of Mongolian Democratic Socialist Youth Union, believed that the conference would be helpful to every attendee.

Xu Jianguo, secretary general of China Foundation for Peace and Development, hoped that China's experience and practices in combating the epidemic could provide assistance to Mongolia.

The Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network, initiated by China NGO Network for International Exchanges and established in May 2017, has organized a series of online communication and exchange conferences alike with countries including Lebanon, Nepal, Cambodia, Kenya, Myanmar, Egypt, Ethiopia and South Africa since the outbreak of the epidemic.
