Series seminars on the New Development of NGO Cooperation along the Silk Road were successfully held

On July 7-8, the Secretariat of Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network (SIRONET) held two series seminars on the New Development of NGO Cooperation along the Silk Road. The themes of the two seminars were "Strengthening the Construction of SIRONET, Promoting the Participation in Global Governance" and "Discussions on the Building of Mechanism, System and Governance Capacity based on the Centennial Achievements of the Communist Party of China" respectively. Over 70 civil organizations, think tanks, media representatives from Pakistan, Nepal, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Egypt, South Africa, Benin, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi and other 20 countries attended the meeting. Apart from the two seminars, the delegates also attended the Communist Party of China (CPC) and World Political Parties Summit held on July 6.

Xu Lvping, Vice-President of China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE), said in her speech that as General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at the Ceremony Marking the Centenary of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of China and World Political Parties Summit, the founding of a communist party in China was an epoch-making event, which profoundly changed the course of Chinese history in modern times, transformed the future of Chinese people and nation, and altered the landscape of world development. The Communist Party of China is a political party that strives for the happiness of the Chinese people as well as for the progress of humankind. China would like to enhance cooperation in high-quality building of the Belt and Road Initiative and jointly increase global connectivity so that more countries and people can share the fruits of development.

Xu Lvping, Vice-President of CNIE delivered a speech

Xu Lvping proposed that to promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative needs the joint efforts of NGOs of different countries. The SIRONET should further strengthen the platform construction, expand the channels of practical cooperation, level up international influence and deeply engage in global governance, making new contributions to promoting people-to-people connectivity of all countries. Xu, on behalf of CNIE, expressed her sincere thanks to the members and partners of the network for sending congratulatory messages, videos, greeting cards and handicrafts to CNIE on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Representatives spoke highly of the keynote speech of General Secretary Xi Jingping at the Ceremony Marking the Centenary of the Communist Party of China and the CPC and World Political Parties Summit. They highly praised General Secretary Xi Jinping’s leadership and fully agree that the CPC has made important contributions to the common development of the Chinese people and the world. They said it could not have been timelier to hold this seminar on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Under the leadership of CPC, China has actively engaged in international cooperation, shouldered international responsibilities and decisively responded to global challenges. This has fully demonstrated the courage and sense of responsibility of a responsible major country. In the face of common challenges, no person or country can remain insulated. The only way out is to work together in harmony with one accord. Civil society organizations should strengthen practical cooperation, actively engage in global governance, and work together to meet the common challenges of human society.
